The following diagnostic is generating:

Portland MET-40/MET-40-NP requires a PDF copy of the Oregon return filed with the Oregon Department of Revenue. Please attach and specify type of return filed.

Go to the efile screen for PDF attachments in Screen 4.4. Scroll to the bottom where it says Oregon Information. Make sure you have clicked the box(es) *Send PDF Attachment with MC-40* (and/or MET-40). Next, use the drop down under Oregon main return/Other Attachments and choose Form OR-40.

I want to add something to what JenS said.

You also need to name the file in 'Description of file,' at the beg of the PDF Attachments section, 'Form OR-40.'

This is the first time in 29 seasons, I have run into a situation where you couldn't reference the attachment to include the client name.

I haven't filed every state, and I have filed lots of Oregon returns, but this error (and lack of explanation) is the most frustrating.
