The following diagnostic is generating:

The pass-through withholding entered in the Income: Passthrough K-1s input screen does not match the withholding entered in State & Local: Other input screen. Only the withholding entered in the Income: Passthrough K-1s input will appear on the printed return. The entries in the State & Local: Other input are for efile purposes only.

Solution:

You have duplicate or mismatched entries for state pass-through withholding: the amount entered in Income: Passthrough K-1s does not match what’s in State & Local: Other. Lacerte uses the K-1 screen amount for what prints on the return; the State & Local: Other entry is used only for e-file purposes.

  1. Open the Income menu>Screen 20 Passthrough K-1s input and confirm the state withholding amount.
  2. Open the State & Local>Screen 57 Other>Maine 1099-ME and make sure the withholding matches the K-1 entry.
  3. Keep in mind: the K-1 screen controls the printed return; the State & Local entry is for e-file only.

One possible cause on individual returns is Maine pass-through withholding entered on Screen 20.2 without the corresponding Maine Form 1099ME information entered on Screen 57.162
