The following diagnostic is generating:

California State Disability Insurance (SDI) is greater than $9,999. This return must be filed as a conventional paper return.

Solution:

This diagnostic is triggered because the amount of California SDI withheld exceeds $9,999, which is not allowed for electronic filing under California’s e-file specifications.

Could you split that W-2 and enter it as 2 W-2s to get around this?

The more I know the more I don’t know.

There was a post earlier ( but since the search function here sucks...). I think you can still e-file by overriding; that the consensus is it isn't a CA restriction.
