Step 2: Search for Your Answer
The answer might be out there! How do you search for a help article or related discussions?
When using the Community homepage search, you'll search throughout the entire Community. When using the search on a Community Board, you'll search only that board.
Whether you're using Community search or a search engine, start by answering these three questions:
What are you trying to do?
Examples:
- Enter a K-1
- Generate a form
- Understand an error message
- Find out why a return was rejected
What’s it about?
Be specific. Include the exact form, section, error, or diagnostic number when possible.
Examples:
- Form 8915-F
- Ref #4137
- Section 179 deduction
- Rejection F8962-070
Which product are you using?
Intuit products can have different workflows, so include the product you're using.
Examples:
- ProSeries
- Lacerte
- ProConnect Tax
Put it all together:
What are you trying to do? Generate
What’s it about? Form 8915-F
Which product are you using? ProSeries
Search: Generate 8915-F ProSeries
This search is more likely to return results such as Generating Form 8915-F in ProSeries.
