FIRE website down?

I have not been able to connect to the Fire website since Friday. Anyone else having problems with the system?  I have tried to setup a new login and the system returns an error for my 5+4 zip code number. As of today the IRS has no answer to my problem.

Just wondering.

Up-date: Just wanted to let you know I did Email them 12/03 at [[email address removed] ] and received a response within 2-days!

On 12/10 I received another E-mail telling me they fixed the Error/Problem also with a note that the Fire Website was down for service until January 5th.

Hopefully is Good to go on the 5th of January...

Having trouble logging into my FIRE account.  It says we need to update our user ID, but I can't figure out how to do that.  What e-mail did you use to contact them?  Any help is greatly appreciated!

This just came today as a Special Edition:

Issue Number: 2021-14

  1.  Filing Information Returns Electronically (FIRE) file status and user ID change

Effective January 1, 2022, the “Good, Not Released” file status and the “Good, Released” file status will be combined, so users will only see a “Good” status change. This will improve system response time and streamline customer file status reporting.

Additionally, on the Test System “Good, Federal Reporting” status has been changed to “Good” while the Combined Federal State Reporting status of “Good, Federal/State Reporting” remains unchanged. IRS.gov and all associated publications will be updated to reflect this change.

Also effective January 1, 2022, a new FIRE account User ID format will be required. It must contain,

  • A minimum of 8 to 25 characters
  • Both alpha and numeric characters
  • No special characters or no spaces

If your current User ID does not meet this criteria, you will be prompted to create a new User ID. At that point, the system will log you out and place you back on the logon page. You will then be able to logon using your newly created User ID.

Yes I am.

Un-fortunately for me I was in the Middle of Signing up under a new EIN prior to the shut down and the information entered on the IRS site was transfered to the FIRE site incorrectly. SO having to address this problem with the two sites was impossible to correct because neither site representative was wanting to take responsibility.
