New W-4 - not reflected in Payroll calculation

I completed the W4 tab for an employee but I still have to enter exemptions on the Main screen. That info is no longer on a W4. Furthermore, if I select the 2020/later box on the W4 tab, the program does not compute any Fed WH at all.

There is no post on this site about this issue since 2021. Can someone please tell me how to make this work?

Thanks,

Have you verified that federal income tax is supposed to be withheld based on that amount of income?  It is possible that the amount of income, their paycheck frequency, and the way the W-4 is filled out would correctly not withhold federal income tax.

Hi, thanks for your reply.

The employee absolutely earns enough for a Fed WH deduction. If I run his payroll through the online ADP payroll calculator, the Fed WH is about $380 with the "W4 after 2020" box checked and about $598 with the "W4 after 2020" box unchecked. EasyAcct is not computing the Fed WH when the "W4 after 2020" box is checked (on the W4 tab).

FICA, Medicare and MD State WH seem to be correct.

Any chance you accidentally have him marked as "Exempt"?

Is it only happening with one employee, or are there other employees with the same problem (if there is only one employee, can you set up a fake/test employee to see what happens)?

I don't use EasyACCT, so unfortunately, I don't think I'll be able to give any suggestions beyond that.
