EasyAcct 2025/2026 - Errors!

I downloaded the new version for the new year and so much issues.  I can't print pay checks by department.  I can't print payroll journal or earnings report by department.  I could at least print earnings report by employee however, after doing the update last week (12/8/25), I couldn't even do that now.  I called EasyAcct and they told me that the developers' solution to all the errors is to delete all payroll created prior to the 11/19/25 update.  Are you kidding me!!! They want me to re-enter the entire year's payroll!  It is 12/15/25, the year-end is approaching and they want me to re-enter the entire year's payroll!  Supposedly, this will fix the issues, but what if let's say, I'm crazy and I actually do that...is it guaranteed it will fix it??

Hi @evjose Welcome to the Community and thank you for sharing your experience with payroll in EasyACCT. We checked with our support team about the guidance you received on deleting payroll entries. They confirmed that the affected date range is approximately 11/14/2025 to 11/19/2025, not all payroll entered before 11/19/2025. You should not need to re-enter the full year.

We understand how important accurate payroll records are, especially at year end. We are staying in contact with our development team and will share any new details or updates as soon as they are available.

Thank you again for reaching out.

Hello @evjose ,

There is a new release of EasyACCT now available – Version 2025.1.10.

This release includes the following items below:

  • GL report is showing incorrect information from sales Journals
  • EasyACCT Client transfer does not give an option to transfer in payroll transactions
  • EasyAcct is sorting by the first number on Employees, and Vendors

We know this release does not cover all concerns that have been raised, but we wanted to keep you updated on the progress being made. We will continue to share updates as more become available.

Thank you!

Kathi

Any idea when the errors will be fixed?  It's been a while and it's already the end of the year.  We still can't print checks and reports by department.

We have been having print issues since October.  And no fix yet.

There's also issues with Manual Processing:

When going to  WRITE CHECKS - prior written checks does not populate unless you bring it up on the manual processing screen first then write checks

When re-printing checks using WRITE CHECKS, if you hit enter, it doesn't populate the next check number which is what it did before.

We can't do a manual check anymore if we wanted to print just one check.  If you enter a new check number, it just brings up checks that were already used and populates that check.

Also, when I restore a company and overwrites the existing one, when I open said company, it has errors, employees aren't showing up.

I'm hoping we don't have issues with quarterlies and year-end forms.  Your tech really should be working round the clock to fix these errors that was created since the upgrade to the new software for the new year.   It has been a nightmare.

The new intuit easy accounting software has so many problems with it that I now am thinking they have a virus in the system.  Our company cannot copy to another drive to save a backup.  My last bank rec is missing all the checks and deposits in the screen.  On a bank rec we tried to complete the payroll checks are missing.  It's like a virus eating up all our previous work.

We do not have confidence in working on it.  I have two staff members on the organization that are very frustrated.  We are nervous as the updates don't solve any of these problems.  A number of other problems are also happening.  It's January 6th and I have to wait an hour or more on the phone to talk to technical service.  I hope they will be able to fix all these problems.  Unbelieveable for this expensive software to be such a nightmare this year.  Every year in the beginning we have issues but this tops all of them.  To have previous disappear and when you copy a backup to your other drive the whole company disappears on the backup drive.  This needs to be fixed.

I’ve got issues as well! When I went to close out the payroll to roll the program forward to 2026, it wiped out 2 completed payrolls in August 2025, and REPLACED all the payroll in September -December 2025 with checks numbers and wages for employees posted to September-December 2024!!!!!!! The earning reports for every month is not calculating MTD, QTD, YTD appropriately!!!! This is BEYOND insane!

As another EasyACCT customer affected by the 2025/2026 release, I want to reinforce how serious and widespread these issues are.

The current 2026 build continues to break core payroll and reporting functions that many firms rely on daily. Documented problems include:

  • Payroll reports by department producing incorrect totals or unusable output
  • Employees missing from earnings reports or excluded from totals
  • Payroll journals by employee failing or returning blank results
  • Manual processing and write-check functions behaving incorrectly
  • Display and view screen regressions affecting usability
  • Restores causing missing employees or corrupted company data
  • Backups losing checks, deposits, or entire companies

These are not edge cases. Multiple users in this forum have reported the same failures over several weeks, with updates either failing to resolve the issue or introducing new defects. Some reports describe shifted payroll history, incorrect YTD and QTD calculations, and data being overwritten during roll-forward. At this point, the risk moves beyond inconvenience into compliance exposure.

From a practical standpoint, what many firms need right now is stability, not another rushed patch.

A reasonable and responsible solution:

  • Keep the 2025 EasyACCT version active and supported
  • Push updated 2026 federal and state payroll tables into the 2025 engine
  • Allow firms to run live payroll, quarterlies, year-end forms, audits, and bank reconciliations on a stable platform
  • Publish a clear timeline for a fully corrected 2026 release with detailed release notes covering payroll, reporting, journals, backups, and display fixes

No one expects development to stop. Users expect a safe fallback path. Forcing migration to a version still showing payroll, reporting, and data-integrity failures puts firms in an impossible position.

Leaving the 2025 version available with current tax tables gives customers a way to stay compliant while your team completes a proper fix. That approach protects users, reduces support strain, and restores confidence in the product.

Please give customers the option to work safely until the 2026 version proves production-ready.

We continue to have issues with these new updates for 2025/2026 conversion of our clients. With W2 and 1099 deadlines fast approaching this needs fixed immediately. There should not be corrupted files due to coding issues. This appears to be a sloppy job by Intuit. Also, any manual fixes that any of us do could cause issues if or when Intuit fixes the issues in another update.

We should not be having this issue in this month year ends etc. happening.
