Can I run a 2021 payroll before transferring 2020 W2s and 1099s to information return system?

I don't know the answer, but when in doubt why not be safe and just do the transfer before you run a 2021 payroll?

    I found it....you can run a 2021 payroll before transferring 2020 data.....didn't want to transfer because I don't have all the 1099 info for Dec.
