PROCONNECT: MY SK-1 63D ELT CREDIT IS NOT SHOWING.  FORM 1 DOES NOT GHENERATE FORM CMS. HOW DO WE MANUALLY INPUT IT TO PRODUCE FORM CMS (MA)

In 2025 the estate had expenses for Property taxes of $3,000 and some postage expense.  No income was received and in 2025 there were no distributions.  Is a 1041 required to be filed?  If not required to be filed, should I file one anyway?

Where do I enter federal tax withheld from Form 1099-INT for an S-Corp (1120-S)?

Massachsetts Trust returns when I file eleectronically if failing because I do not select entity tax. How do I cure this issue so I can file electronically?

I have an S Corp that is going to start doing business in another state (DE). He lives in MD.  The two states do not have reciprocity.  Obviously his P&L will need to be tracked on a state by state level.  Is the income allocated to DE at the S Corp level?  I have spent too much time in Proseries trying to figure out how to allocate some of the S Corp income to DE vs MD. I would imagine this must be done at the S Corp level and not at the individual level, correct? Thanks.

Center for Taxpayer Rights et al, sued the IRS, re: address-sharing policy on sharing taxpayer addresses with ICE for the purpose of carrying out civil deportations of noncitizens.Due to the sensitive nature of the shared information, the plaintiffs argue that this violates the Privacy Act, the Internal Revenue Code, and the Administrative Procedure Act. Under IRC §6103, the IRS cannot disclose information from tax returns with other agencies except under certain circumstances. However, the IRS entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with ICE, allowing data-sharing with the agency for the purposes of conducting a criminal investigation or enforcement. Court ruled in favor of the Plaintiff.  The case was filed in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia. It is now on appeal with the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. Source:  IRS update, Becker, Eric Green, Instructor

Is there a chance that Intuit will rethink the idea of charging per return for the WA Working Families Tax Credit. With my firm, we are in WA but only a few clients qualify for this credit. We are not about to use one of our “unlimited” states for a non-required form, but it feels like an insult to charge the least affluent for this form. I have been (instead) sending my clients to file it online themselves, but I do fear that it is overwhelming for them.

Posting this publicly because any firm filing a Form 5471 is likely shipping client SSNs in documents they believe are masked, and has no way of knowing. Would appreciate a moderator escalating this to the product team. The problemIn ProConnect Tax Online (TY2025, 1040), the "Mask SSN and add watermark" print option does not mask the identifying number on two Form 5471 schedules:Schedule O, page 1 — Part II, Section A, the "Name, address, and identifying number of shareholder(s) filing this schedule" block. On a joint return this exposes both spouses’ SSNs. Schedule P, page 4 — the page-header "Identifying number" field.Every other identifying-number field in the same PDF masks correctly to *********.It is field-level, not page-level. On Schedule O page 1, Section B masks correctly while Section A — three inches above it, same page — does not.Likely causeThe two failing fields emit the number as nine bare digits with no separators. The masking routine appears to match only the hyphenate

Distributions were over DNI, but this number is something completely different.  If DNI was 50k and 75k was distributed, shouldn’t it state that 25k was attributed to corpus? The amount has been searched and only came up under a prior year tax summary. I changed that prior year amount to a different number and the current K-1 statement did not change, so I think it was just a coincidence. This is a fairly simple return, rents, depreciation, and interest. Plus IL passthru tax (NR). But the corpus amount showing is totally different from the IL as well, though I don’t think that would have carried over to the Federal return for the k-1 statement.Anyone have any ideas why I have a random number showing up (ok, probably not random, pilot error I can’t seem to locate)?
