I have a client who has historically paper filed - CPA used ProSeries Professional. This is the first year for me preparing the return and the client has agreed to efile. When I select the return for efile, I get a message saying: "User cancelled EF conversion request". No errors in return but a couple of unsupported computations. Pro Series help has not helped with this. Any ideas?
Have you rebooted the computer, gone to the Windows menu to "Repair Updates", then open the program and try again? That is my first suggestion.
I've closed out of the program, opened and updated. Have not tried the reboot. Will try and keep fingers crossed. Thank you for replying!
That sounds like a corrupt file, you need to do REPAIR UDPATES not just Update.
Close PS then go to your Windows Programs/Apps menu, find PS2025 and under it will be an option to Repair. This dumps all previous updates and installs a fresh set, it can take some time, so dont try to get it done if youve got a client coming in soon.
Assuming you’re able to efile others and previous suggestions haven’t worked, try ‘save as’ new file name… unselect efile in original return, then try efile new return…
Thank you all for the suggestions. (1) doing the reboot; repair updates has not worked; (2) doing the save as has not worked; (3) other odd things occurring: PA return was successfully efiled and accepted and when trying to view the standard client letter, I get kicked over to the actual code as though I had selected edit. The error message I get is: "Error 25775 unable to start the client letter feature".
Can't find that error # when I goggle it. Was on phone for about 2 hours with ProSeries help and they were not able to help with that code. Anyone know how or where to look up error codes generated in ProSeries? Does any of this make any sense to any else out there?
Hi @Marjorie2 thanks for posting in the Community about receiving error "User cancelled EF conversion request" when selecting a return for eFile. Here is a Support article that might assist with this: Resolving Return Conversion Failed errors during e-file in ProSeries
If the steps do not help we'd recommend reconnecting with PS Support for this error and the Error 25775 unable to start the client letter feature error message.
Thank you everyone - none of the suggestions has worked. Going to have the client paper file federal. One question: would using an IRS issued ID PIN for one of the taxpayers prevent the return from being able to be processed for efiling? Would not think so, but first year user..
