Resolving Return Conversion Failed errors during e-file in ProSeries
by Intuit•1• Updated 1 month ago
When e-filing a federal or state return, the Conversion Log generates a Return Conversion Failed error, but doesn't give a reason.
- This article references default installation paths and uses YY to reference the tax year in 20YY format. C: will always indicate the local drive and X: will always indicate the network drive.
Repairing a damaged formset:
To repair a corrupt formset, you'll need to uninstall the formset that failed to convert. For example: US 1040 for a federal Individual return that fails to convert.
If the error message continues, the error may be the result of a damaged client file. Proceed with the next set of instructions.
Repairing a damaged client file:
- Open ProSeries.
- Open client file.
- From the File menu, select Save As.
- Change the file name to something different and save.
- Close the return.
- On the main HomeBase View (not the EF Center) right-click on the original return and select Delete.
