Has anybody tried uploading W-2s to SSA yet (using EasyAcct)? I have and SSA receives them. The total wages is correct BUT the number of W-2 forms checked is wrong. I am worried this might come back to bite me.
Today I uploaded some using Information Return System, and those appeared to be correct.
Can this be fixed in EasyAcct?
Is there a direct email for EasyAcct?
Definitely use the Information Return System to upload to SSA. I used it to print the W-2's and W-3 information as well as 1099's. It's more reliable than running it out of the EasyAcct program, which after future updates, the information is sometimes not retrievable as the years and updates move forward. Even saving a copy of the company doesn't help, thankfully I always save a hardcopy of the W-2's in my files and was able to provide a W-2 from 2023, which I was unable to do through the program itself. It wasn't saved the same way through the information return for that year, so I learned to always use Information Return for all things related to uploading, and printing forms, the information is always available that way, regardless of updates to the software.
Are you still on the 2025/2026 update? We reverted back to 2024/2025 due to all of the issues so now when we try to copy from EasyAcct to the Information System 2024 follows through to the W2's. This whole issue is a nightmare!!
