Form 1120 E-filing Issue – Foreign Officer without SSN or ITIN (Ref #9111)

Hello,

I am attempting to electronically file Form 1120 for a corporation that has a foreign officer who does not have a SSN or ITIN. In previous years, I was able to bypass this diagnostic using the “ForeignUS” entry, but it appears that this option is no longer available in the TY 2024 filing.

Is there an updated method to enter the officer information to allow e-filing despite the lack of SSN/ITIN? Or in this case, is paper filing the only option?

The diagnostic I am encountering is:
Ref #9111 – Officer #1: The Social Security Number of the officer entered is invalid.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Did you ever find a solution for this? Having the same issue right now.

Hi great to see you in the Community and thanks for posting! Here's a support article that should help with this:

Per this diagnostic, there currently isn't a workaround to e-file in this situation. Paper filing is the solution when an officer doesn't have a valid SSN or ITIN.

If you need further assistance with this we would reach out to ProConnect Tax Support.
