Consistently am receiving the following error message and there is no work around. I keep hitting the "Retry" button but doesn't solve the issue. Internet is working on all other programs, this is ProSeries specific. Anyone else having these issues?
Server Busy - This action cannot be completed because the other program is busy. Chose "Switch to" to activate the busy program and correct the problem.
Switch to -or- Retry (buttons available but neither does anything)

Try shutting down everything and rebooting.
There has been comment this can relate to Carbonite or other backup (mirroring of the working files) and/or anti-virus scanning the files all the time.
Having same problem when transmitting returns. just started happening yesterday. I had all anti-virus off.
I've tried the reboot several times, does not solve the problem. It is happening on EVERY e-file transmission now. Extremely frustrating and time-consuming. Thanks for your suggestion, I wish it would have worked!
This is now happening within my program on EVERY transmission now. And it's hit and miss with how many times you have to hit the "retry" button. Sometimes 13 tries, sometimes 102 (yes, I've counted!) I can't exit or escape out of the error message, I have to keep hitting the retry until it either cancels the transmission or it goes through.
I'm having the exact same issues.
Having this problem nearly every time I try to get in to the program. Does anyone have any fix ideas other than rebooting? It's VERY frustrating.
@wrisboskin If I open two or three years of ProSeries and QBs all at the same time - I get that same message. Possibly not enough RAM. I close all the Intuit programs, then reopen them starting with what I need open the most. For me, it took care of the Program Busy message.
I get this issue and I have 32 GB ram a solid state drive; sometimes between years, other times in the program solo. ProSeries tried telling me there is a program conflict and I need to get out of that program. Trouble was once there was no other programs open!
Don't have a solution.

That's not your CPU memory ram. That's Storage for files.
Memory Ram is "working brain space." You can open programs, then close them, and good housekeeping means they would clear themselves out of RAM. Some do not; these are called Terminate and Stay Ready (TSR), such as, Skype "runs in the background" to be ready for an incoming connection. An audio program put on pause is still in memory, even though it's not playing.
And also are memory leaks = over time, things just get dusty and cluttered. How long since you restarted? Not just a reboot, but an actual power down?

Here is where you see Installed RAM. That's memory. That is usually with "sticks" of memory and there are typically empty slots. I always shop for an entry-level "gaming" system, for anything running Intuit programs. You want at least 16 gb. Intuit system requirement recommendation:
"Based on continued performance testing, the minimum RAM requirement is 8GB. If you are running ProSeries on a computer with less than 8GB of RAM, you will experience slower performance when opening the program and completing tax returns. To improve performance, we recommend upgrading your RAM to 8GB or more."
I was typing to fast.
I have 32 GB(31.7 GB usable) of RAM. In addition, I have a solid state 1TB hard drive. 64 bit operating system, 13th Gen I-7 processor. The system is 9 months old. Memory usage with multiple programs open(including a memory hogging webrowser) is anywhere from 35%-45%. Per Dell, this memory usage is not the problem, Neither is the CPU being taxed.
Any other possibilities?
I forgot to mention.
Power down at least once a week.
Reboot much more often.
