New computer -- install question

We were having problems with the computer that was acting as our server.  I bought a new one last night. Can I just install 2020 first, and then work backwards as needed?  Or do I need to start from the earlier years first.  

I am waiting for a callback from support, and I can't find the answer in the help articles.  If anyone knows, that would be great!

Just in case anyone else has this question, the answer is I can just put what I need on it now, and grab prior years later.
