Are there no humans here??? A brain-dead AI bot is all there is??? What am I paying this much money for ProSeries for?? I get an error message that delays my getting into ProSeries for a couple of minutes every time I open it. I don't want to talk about tax, I want to talk about the error in this year's software
Typically this is not a ProSeries issue, it is your computer issue.
Clear the Internet broswer cache. Restart the computer, restart ProSeries. If it still happens go to Task Manager and End Task for any ProSeries item listed. Restart rhe computer, restart ProSeries. It should work. If not, look into possible compatiability issues with any anti-virus, malware, firewall and other softwares that might be blocking or slowing down ProSeries start.
whats the error? is it that dumb one that says action cant be completed blah blah blah?
I did see someone say they fixed it on their system by using the Repair option on the ProSeries Shared Components in Windows Add/Remove Programs.
I only notice it happen when ive got a program in the background thats scanning files (anti-virus, cloud backup, etc) or multiple Intuit programs running at once. I have not tried the Repair option they discovered, but its in my list of potential remedies should I start being plagued by it.
Here I am again. My IT Tech solved it in about ten minutes. He deleted two or three old Microsoft Visual C++ files and downloaded a new one. ProSeries comes up fast and clean now. If anybody asks this question again, here is a solution that worked.
On another subject, can I get rid of that death's head as my avatar??

Yes, go to the upper right corner of the page and click on the death head, choose Settings> Avatar
So a Microsoft glitch vs an Intuit 'brain dead AI' glitch.
Just clarifying

that may very well be the part of Shared Components that need to be repaired!
