    E-Filing Returns

There needs to be a way when tax returns are E-Filed you have a day or even an hour to pull the returns back if they were efiled in error and then be able to resubmit the returns.  At the least, be able to call ProSeries tech support within a timely manner for them to reject the returns before they are forwarded on to the IRS or State.

Just giving heads up, when you are E-Filing a tax return in ProSeries and hit the cancel button, it does NOT work.

    Why?

Paying homage to @Just-Lisa-Now- : Are you going to ask for an opening in the bottom of all mailboxes so that you can pull your letter out after you post it!

If we allow it to be pulled back then it will delay the filing.  I would rather have the return accepted within the hour than have to wait a day or two before it gets released by Intuit.

Don't send it unless you are sure.

Yeah what JB10 suggested, and do it for ProConnect also.

    YES!!!

We all have returns we wish we hadn't clicked the Send button.

Just call it a "DO OVER" process for when this happens.

So someone wants to slow up the process for the rest of us.  Having an "oops" button means something is going to be delayed on the other end of the processing side.  I have been e-filing since somewhere around 1866.  I have never sent a return that I didn't mean to send in all of those years.  But I am very careful to make sure a return doesn't go out that shouldn't go out.  More folks should try that and then we wouldn't have the multiple "how do I cancel a return" questions that show up here every year.  Folks always seem to want a magical cure to come from Intuit for all of their issues that arise due to their lack of using due care.
