Individual efiling shut down Nov 21. It will reopen in January 2021. 2017 individual returns can no longer be filed.

The IRS shuts down efiling, not Intuit.

As Susan says, that happened on 11/21/20.  Some states can be be efiled separately - I don't know if NY is one of them.  Intuit did send out notification of which states can still be efiled.

And, for IRS purposes - even when MeF reopens, 2017 will be off the e-file table.  Again, don't know if that's applies to NY.

From the NY DOR....

Electronic filing for income tax is closed; you cannot submit e-filed income tax returns until the new filing season opens in 2021. We anticipate the season will open in late January.
