Uninstall Proseries 2021

Run Proseries on desk top and laptop.  Deleted files on laptop to install updated and backed up files from desktop  Something went wrong with the restore from the back-up thumb drive.

If you are talking about the data files, as opposed to program files (can't really tell from your post), you probably need to run homebase maintenance. If that doesn't work, try just copying the files to the thumb drive, and then to the laptop rather than using a backup / restore function, That is the way I have done it, and always has worked as soon as I ran the homebase maintenance for the program to find the files.
