New born no SSN

Client had a new born in 2020. Social security department says that there is a delay in issuing new SSN due to covid. We used to use "applied for" I don't see it on ProSeires Professional. Any ideas?

I'm afraid the best option is to file an extension and wait for the Social Security Number to come.

    I was going to add, that's the only option.  But I suppose the return can be filed now without the dependent, and then followed with an amended return.
