Maryland direct debit

I am unable to efile Maryland return. The error message concerns the direct debit option. i selected May 1 as the debit date. The message says date must be 4/15 or earlier. I know MD has extended due dates of returns and payments until May 17. Would appreciate any advice or workaround suggestions. Thanks!

You need to wait for the software to catch up to the NEW IRS filing date. HOPEFULLY PS will do this in the next update.

Actually, MD extended until July 15.

When can we expect this update? It still hasn't been done as of 4/7/21.

The due date change from 4/15/21 to 7/15/21 for IND or BUS has not been implemented by the state agency yet. As of now, you can set up the payment to be made on the current date or a future date but not beyond 4/15/21 (as it was the original filing/paying due date).

Until the state updates their system, taxpayers that elect to make payments after 4/15/21 will need to make the payments electronically or with a printed voucher.
