Am I missing something or is there some way I am supposed to notice that I have received a private message? I know I can click on my avatar and then click on private message to see if there has been activity, but is there something that I haven’t noticed that alerts me to the fact that someone sent a private message? I don’t tend to spend a lot of time here these days and I don’t tend to go looking for private messages when I do stop in, but I was curious if there was in fact some function like the bat light shining in the sky indicating someone was looking for me? I just happened to click on private messages this morning and see that there was a message ---------- not that I can respond with the current system but it would be nice to know if Lassie was contacting me because Timmy fell in the well again so I can at least call 911.

I responded to you once, but it appears that my response is bouncing around somewhere in the Matrix. I didn’t get an alert, but when I clicked on my avatar I saw there was a blue dot by private messages. You would think something in notifications would be helpful, but what do I know ---------- I still haven’t found out where Intuit is mailing all of my paychecks. Maybe they are going to the same place my first reply went.

private messages are broke……… surprised? for $0.82 you can generally use the USPS and expect delivery within 1-2 weeks…

If at first you don’t succeed…..find a workaround

I know it is broken in regards to responding to someone, but I was curious if this was another feature broken in the system or if I was supposed to stand on one foot and rub my head while opening the community page for it to work.

Messages dont work right yet. If you click your profile icon on the corner, you will see the option, if youve got a message in there you’ll see a blue dot next to it….theres no way to reply to a message yet though.

As normal, some replies are hidden. Hidden under a pile of brush is Kathi’s post saying they are killing the private messaging system. The private messaging funeral is scheduled for September 31st at midnight for anybody interested in attending.

Guess it’s just a sign of the times… i ordered a package to be delivered to me in NJ by USPS. i got a notification that they are forwarding it to my FL address. 3 days later I saw tracking that it was at a postal facility in Chicago…. 3 more days and tracking said it’s out for delivery (in Fl). I got another notification this afternoon that it’s being forwarded again…. Hope my package earns frequent flyer points
