J-1 Visa AMT Issue?
Working on a 1040NR for someone with a J-1 visa. Their income is being taxed at the appropriate 10% but for some reason it keeps triggering AMT. I went into the 6251 and it appears that the exemption (Part II, line 5) is not populating. If I override the cell then it calculates properly and negates the AMT.
Anyone else running into this?
