Question

FILING OHIO TAX RETURNS

Last week Proseries updated and is now requiring a school district tax code be input on the school district tax return, regardless of whether a school district return is to be filed or not.  If you are not preparing a return for a taxing school district, the program tells you that you can't do it. There is no way to get around this and file a return for an Ohio resident who is not living in a taxing school district.

I started receiving this error after the last update also. I rarely need to file a school district return based on where I am located in Ohio so I have been doing the following:

If you don't need to file a school district tax return with the Ohio return check the box on the school district return to "Suppress this copy of Form SD 100".
