I have client who has 1098T for 2018 and also want to claim his computer and printer total cost $3000. for education expense, he shows me receipt.Can he claim that for educational expenses?

If he showed you a receipt for a new Mustang, would that make it a deductible education expense ------------- he needed to drive to school.  Was the computer required as part of the curriculum?
