I have used Lacerte software since 1993. At our office, I am the only one using Lacerte software doing about 20 tax returns annually and paying with REP format. The main office computer (peer to peer network) is being replaced. I forget from the last time we bought a new "server" whether I had to download as many old years software and then copy the data files or if there is a way to "move / copy" the programs and files to the new hard drive. Any suggestions you can offer from successful prior experience is greatly appreciated.

The most important thing is to make a backup of all of the client files on some portable media, preferably more than one media (such as memory sticks). https://proconnect.intuit.com/community/download-products/help/installing-lacerte-on-a-new-computer-... outlines moving to a new computer.
Expect to spend a good deal of time doing this process.
