We are getting the following error message when we try to efile an individual return that has NY & NYC. There are no diagnostic errors, and this only comes up as a critical error when we try to create the efile. Anyone have an idea how to correct this?

I'm getting the same error with the same situation. Will await responses...
Ok I figured it out. The NYC return is already included in the NYS efile, so once I unchecked the NYC efile, it went through.
Thank you, an hour onhold with no respomnse and you solved it for me instantly!
I am getting the same error but I do not have New York City NYC checked. The error will not let me move forward. There is a NY Credits ONLY : IT-214, NYC-208, NYC-201 checked.

Hi, any solution found? Error: Efiel ind.ny.credit
Yes. There was no NY credit so we removed that check mark and the NYC and just left the NY State to be filed. That seemed to clear up the issue.
You and another removed NYC and cleared the problem? What am I missing? You filed the return without NYC if there was no credit? What about NYC tax? I don't understand your resolution. Sorry.
