2006 on a window 7 system

I am running Windows 7 pro, but I would like to prepare a 2006 tax return.

I've downloaded the 2006 software but when I attempt to install I get an error message about Windows vista.

Is it safe to try and run the program on this pc?

2006 is safe. Window Vista is not.
