NEW & ONLY WITH INTUIT

Secure signing.
No extra cost.

Intuit offers the only tax solution that includes digital signatures and KBA for all your tax clients with no additional fee.* Intuit Sign is built into your software, so you can send, track, and complete signature requests as part of your workflow.

Signing that keeps work moving to completion

Included with your software, Intuit Sign removes friction from the final step of the tax process. This built-in feature helps you send, track, and complete signature requests without added tools, fees, or disruption.

Here’s how it supports your practice day to day:

Signing stays inside
your workflow

Keep signing where your work already happens—from request to signed return.

Built-in compliance,
built for tax workflows

KBA is included for Forms 8878 and 8879, with access code and email authentication options available.

One place for all your
signing needs

Send IRS Forms 8878 and 8879, engagement letters, estimates, invoices, and more without switching tools.

Always know where
signatures stand

Track every request at a glance with real-time updates, client progress indicators, and a complete audit trail.

Let automated reminders
handle the follow-ups

Track signature requests in real time and see exactly where each one stands. Remind clients automatically so returns don’t stall.

Support multiple signers
when returns require it

Add up to two signers for individual returns, including married filing jointly. For business returns, designate the signer and send the request within the same workflow.

Have questions? We’ve answered the ones that matter most.

From pricing and prior-year eSignatures to KBA requirements and client experience, here’s what you can expect with Intuit Sign.

Intuit Sign is an electronic signature solution built into your Intuit tax software. It allows clients to securely view and sign documents from any device. You select the forms that require signatures, attach them to a request, and send them by email, without leaving your tax workflow.

Intuit Sign is fully integrated into ProConnect, Lacerte, and ProSeries. There’s no need to manage a separate tool or log-in.

It helps you:

  • Pre-populate popular tax forms with client data
  • Manage signature requests and statuses alongside returns
  • Customize and automate reminders
  • Generate audit trail reports with timestamps
  • Archive copies of signed documents

And unlike many third-party solutions, signatures and KBA are included for all your tax clients with your active software license.

Starting tax year 2026, Intuit Sign replaces eSignature for current-year returns. Prior-year returns (2025 and earlier) continue to use eSignature within that product.

Intuit Sign supports two authentication methods:

  • Knowledge-based authentication (KBA): Required for certain IRS forms, including 8878 and 8879.
  • Access code authentication: A unique 6- to 9-digit code assigned by you.

Yes. Your dashboard updates in real time. You can quickly see whether a request is Sent, Delivered, Completed, Partially signed, Declined, Voided, Expired, or if authentication failed.

For individual 1040 returns, you can include up to two recipients (primary taxpayer and spouse for married filing jointly). For business returns and other documents, one recipient may be added.

Our IRS-compliant security partner, DocuSign, meets stringent U.S., EU, and global security standards. It uses SSL 256-bit encryption, is ISO 27001-certified, and is SOC1- and SOC2-certified, with annual audits conducted under AICPA standards.

If you have an active Intuit tax software license, you automatically have access to unlimited Intuit Sign signatures and KBA. No additional purchase required.
