NYS E-file date pushed to 2/12/26..... Has anyone ever known them to approve it sooner, I am at a loss!
I am trying to efile a few NYS returns. IRS is going through fine. I will keep people posted.
So far ProSeries says NYS returns sent to state, no acks back yet for personals
Corporations seem to be fine.
And not a peep from customer support. What horrible service
Seems like its time to research a new tax software solution, Intuit is not getting it done!!!! I now have to mail my NYS returns to my clients after there Federal returns were already completed. This is an inconvenience to our office and our customer meanwhile my competitors are filing NYS returns everyday, This form was ready by NYS and approved for intuit January 30th. Someone should be fired over this and its certainly bad upper management. This is going to cost me clients and over a 1200 to mail all of these returns to my clients who have requested hard copies. Intuit management hire more programmers, get this done today. Do you know you can even talk to an intuit supervisor or get ahold of anyone besides the customer support who cant tell you anything or even get you to the next level supervisor. This company is going down hill fast as their stock prices. This is soooo frustrating, every year its another late form by intuit.
The least they can do is let us print the NYS returns.
We previously had Katie from Intuit on this thread, but unfortunately there has been no meaningful follow-up or escalation, nor have we received any actionable feedback.
Repeated calls to standard support channels have not helped. The support team appears to lack the context and authority needed to address this issue, and the matter continues to be deflected back to New York State without resolution.
At this point, it is clear that progress will not be made without direct involvement from senior leadership. Continuing to route this through the same paths will only result in further delays and circular responses.
We are requesting that this be formally escalated to leadership with the authority to assess the situation, provide concrete feedback, and drive a resolution. Without that level of engagement, nothing will change.
I am also looking into other tax software companies. Lost all respect for intuit. They have their hands in too many things and are lacking in supervision apparently. They don't care about how much this is affecting their customer base.
ProSeries is to Intuit as Hellmann's is to Unilever. Just a small fraction of the total revenue. There is a product manager, name unknown, who reports to the CEO when there is time available, considering all the other products and possible acquisitions. If you can find a better mayonnaise, buy it. But don't think the loss of one consumer, for one of many products, will be noticed. They might want you to transition to some other software they produce, anyway.
@violajr The release is actively being worked on. We’ll share updates as soon as we have them. At this time this is the information that I have.
The length of time this issue has taken to resolve, combined with continually shifting target dates, does not address the underlying problem: this reflects a serious lack of customer focus and ownership.
The fact that the required signature form appears unchanged for nearly a decade strongly suggests that Intuit has not made this a priority or invested the effort necessary to resolve the issue with New York State. Instead, dates continue to be pushed back without concrete explanations or evidence of progress.
This has now impacted hundreds of small businesses that rely on Intuit’s professionalism and expertise to operate compliantly. Repeated delays, vague updates, and deflection of responsibility send a clear message that the needs of smaller customers are not being taken seriously.
At this point, continued extensions without transparency or accountability are unacceptable. What is needed is clear ownership, a definitive plan, and senior-level engagement to drive a resolution rather than continued deferral.
Please advise who is accountable for this issue, what specific actions are being taken with New York State, and when customers can expect a definitive resolution.
We are requesting escalation beyond the current support structure, as the existing approach has not delivered results.
IntuitKatie -
This is so unacceptable.
The date we could print the forms was originally published as 1/31/26.
It changed to 2/5/26. Now it the print date is 2/12/26!? Completely unacceptable.
I called customer support asking to have this issue elevated - please please make someone aware that we need to be able to print these forms. At least let us print them!
The best advice I can give anyone out there also trying to print NY returns - call and complain. The more voices heard hopefully someone will help us.
This situation is completely unacceptable and unprofessional. We were approached well in advance of tax season to purchase the next year’s software, but when tax season arrives, the very software we invested in nearly a year ago is not ready. It results in a costly regression to completed returns, preventing us from printing or sending client returns for electronic signature. Consequently, I must explain to clients—who are accustomed to filing early in the season—why we cannot meet their expectations this year. The process is frustrating and unproductive, and I am highly disappointed with Intuit.
This delay is simply unacceptable. As others have mentioned, I am falling further and further behind with each passing day. By the time we get to February 12, I expect to have somewhere around 75 tax returns ready to go. Do you have any idea how long it is going to take me to collate, process, and efile those 75 tax returns? That is time I am not going to get paid for since I cannot justify passing along the additional cost associated with the time needed to process these returns to my clients. This situation needs to be resolved NOW.
They just moved it again to February 12th. This is getting crazy. I am asking for reimbursement. It's them and not New York State. UtraTax can print and efile.
Hi,
I actually don't understand why there is a backlog on these returns. The state approved them on 1/7; so ProSeries is either waiting on the State and/or should explain why this is taking so long. It was also listed to be updated on 1/30 and then pushed backed to 2/5.
Note: You can actually print but there is a big watermark "Do Not File."
I really hope this is resolved by Thursday.
I can print -- go to print not print preview.
Only prints federal. State is not printing.
I just got my first NYS e-filed acknowledgement!!
E-filing for IRS and NYS are working.
To print: Print just Federal, then go to NYS and individually print each return and each form that has info on it.
For the TR-579, you can print out a blank one from the web or do as I did, take last year's, cross out 2024 and write in 2025 and then write out or cross out income and refund/money due and write in 2025 numbers. Have client initial and sign. It's something till they release everything.
I understand estimates aren't printing but most people don't want to file early if they owe, so maybe put those aside for now and just file those that want their refunds right away.
I wasn't able to print out IT-2, but someone on here said it is part of the e-file, so no worries about getting notices from NYS about a missing IT-2. Can anyone else confirm?
Hey all! I see I was not alone in this mess of not being able to print. I actually still continued to e-file like normal and I have received acknowledgments from the state but 3/4 days later. I also found out how to print the entire forms accidently. It might be a hassle but I think it will be easier than printing each NYS form/sch. separately. So what I had done was went to print client copy, clicked on preview and NYS is going to have the watermark saying Do not mail, efile only (which I feel like its fine since it is client's copy) and then I click out the preview and click on create PDF. the PDF downloaded is the complete package with the watermark on NYS forms. Hopefully this helps! but yes I have e-filed NYS returns and rec'd acknowledgments
That is a NON - answer.... we deserve more. ARE all of these state issues related to OB3 & conformity issues? And if so, why do some software providers have the Forms available but Intuit doesn't. Most of us would (likely) be OK if we just got an honest answer...
Is there any chance it will be ready before 2/12 ? I was telling my clients 2/5 the last few days and then the update yesterday pushed it to 2/12. Its just completely incompetent. And then Inuit's incompetence ends up making us look incompetent. It really is unacceptable. People struggling with this should be compensated in one way or another.
If anyone does NYC - are you able to generate the NYC S Corporation return or doesn't give the option yet? It wont even let me generate the return on my program
NYC S Corp has not even been released yet. They are destroying my business and costing me a fortune in lost time. I've been a Pro Series Customer since 1999 and this is the worst I've seen from them.
The person I spoke to today at support knew exactly what I was talking about and she said she's heard it from many people.
Just click off the box that says 'watermark' and that DO NOT MAIL will go away. That box is in the print this client box off to the right side.
It looks like the New York State update overnight finalized the NY State forms, and we are now able to print them.
Hopefully our continued persistence helped move this forward. Either way, we appreciate that this step is now complete.
That said, a brief explanation of the cause of the delay and what was ultimately resolved would be helpful for our understanding. For now, since we can finally print, we will focus on our clients and move forward.
This was reported yesterday by a Syracuse TV station:
(WETM) – If you use Intuit “Turbo Tax” to file your New York State tax return, you know that it can’t be filed right now. That’s because TurboTax needs a patch to accurately calculate NY taxes after last year’s “Inflation Refund” checks issued by the state. Intuit, which owns Turbo Tax, says the fix should be installed by February 4. An 18 News Digital user sent us the notice he received from TurboTax after it couldn’t file his taxes right now
18 News Digital reached out to Intuit for comment, and got back this information: “Recently, an issue related to New York’s Inflation Refund Checks caused select New York state tax returns to not be accepted. We have identified the issue, and a fix is expected to be implemented by Wednesday, February 4. We are actively coordinating with the state of New York and are communicating directly with any filer impacted to ensure taxpayers in the state of New York can file their taxes as soon as possible with complete confidence that they are getting their maximum refund, guaranteed.”
Turbo Tax is one of the most popular tax preparing software programs, with an estimated 42-45 million people using it yearly.
I ran an update this morning and now I can print the NYS tax return Printed out 3 returns within the hour with no problem
I agree
Why is NYS taking so long to finalize their forms?
And yes you cant even give them a copy of the return
THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE
I was able to print the return today after updating the forms
any date they mention for release or what the hold up is?
This morning I ran refresh updates and after that I was able to print out the NYS tax returns for my clients
