Does Illinois not allow for PDF attachment? Last year was on worksheet homepage. I tried with Illinois going to efile and then attach PDF but it does not allow. 1040 Federal I can.

@garman22 I have checked. The Illinois Department of Revenue will not be taking in PDF support documents through the MeF programs for TY2018.

Although, I am unable to speak to the infinite wisdom of the leaders of the the great state of IL, if you need to attach a supporting statement to the return, it would have to be paper filed.

I agree, Lisa. @Kathi_at_Intuit thank you very much, darling!! This is exactly what I wanted to know.

I wanted to make sure I was not missing anything as I was tired last night when I asked this. I found an knowledge base article to help me but on Illinois it was grayed out. Illinois wants school receipts for those that claim k-12 expenses. I've NEVER done that until last year. I have friends (in the biz) who didnt know Illinois requests them. I found it to be a pain in the a$$ last year but.....Ill send my returns without and if they request, we respond.

@garman22  - I take no credit for that line.  Our friend Archie Leach created that line that lives on even though he was killed in a car accident a couple of years ago.  This place lost some of its fun after Archie's passing.

The "Come And Get Me Coppers"  acronym was started by Archie and just kind of stuck in here.....similar to the convoluted complicated crazy situations that get brought up,  someone may refer to the "blind squirrel", which was another AllStar that passed away, he came in with the craziest stuff...it was like he had a neon sign above his office, "got crazy? come on in!" his avatar was a blind squirrel.

But I prepare mostly blue collar (i think you and I talked about that, Lisa). So my fee are a little lower but I am happy and make a good living.
