Client Letter

Does anyone have any tips on customizing and using the client letter in Lacerte?  Right now it just prints a very simplified version of the letter and I don't see where to make changes.  Thanks for any help!

oh - that makes sense.  I was hoping I could have both the custom letter and the filing instructions

Go to settings, options, to the tab "Tax Return" and go to about the 5th option down called "Filing Instructions" and change to no.  I think that is how I actually got the nice detailed cover letter to print

I believe you can have both... and the client letter can be customized.

do you know what the settings would be to have both the custom letter and the filing instructions to print in a client copy as well as in the Form View.  I would like to be able to see the "filing instructions" in the forms view.  But obviously, when you turn that off to get the custom letter it goes away.

I don't use the 'filing' instructions, but I'm sure you can have both:

Upper Menu Bar > Settings > Options > Items to Print > Left side menu - select Client.   Then 'tag' both the client letter (under Client correspondence) then under Federal Return 'tag' Main Form Filing Instructions.
