Why does my prgram want date of death and client is not deceased

You've probably got a blank ghosted space in the date of death box, making it require an actual entry.  Use backspace and delete to make sure that box is empty.

Hmmm, that's tricky there is nowhere to really mark a 1040 'final' so i'm unsure how to advise.  Have you tried doing a SAVE AS incase something is just janky w/ that client file?
