ProSeries early release program

Welcome to the ProSeries early release program. This program lets you get a jump start on filing taxes for the year 2024. You can now download a version of Intuit ProSeries Tax that is ready to use. Later in the year, your software will update to make sure you have the most up-to-date information for filing taxes.

Prerequisites 

• You should have valid My Account sign-in credentials.  
• Your ProSeries license should be renewed for tax year 2024.
  • If you have not yet renewed for tax year 2024 see here for how to renew. 
• Make sure you meet the current system requirements. 

What should I try out in early release?

Here are a few things that you can do to help us assess the performance of ProSeries during the early release program:

• Install ProSeries for tax year 2024.
  • Click here for information on installing if you use Intuit Hosted.
  • Click here for information on installing ProSeries Basic or ProSeries Professional as a stand alone.
  • Click here for information on installing ProSeries Professional as a network.
• Add on workflow tools: Hosting for ProSeries, eSignature, Pay-by-Refund, and Protection Plus.
• Create custom views in HomeBase.
• Check out the right drawer: Messages from ProSeries, eSignature, and Integrations.
• Transfer returns for your clients.
• Print a client letter and return at the same time.
• Perform some basic operations with your client files.
• Perform other tax preparation activities.

What's not included in early release?

Most forms, schedules and worksheets will be in draft for the early release program.

Follow these steps to install ProSeries Professional or Basic as a stand alone:

1. Sign to My Account.
2. Enter your Email or user ID and Password, and then click on Sign In.
3. To download the current year's program, click respective Download button. For prior tax years, select Previous Years and click on the year you need to download.
   • If the drop-down does not show the current tax year, you may need to use the Renew Now button to renew your software license.
4. When asked Do you want to run or save this file? click Save.
5. Click Save again to finish saving the file.
6. Press CTRL + J on your keyboard to open your Downloads.
7. Run the downloaded file.
   • If installing ProSeries Professional it will be CoreInstallerTY24.exe.
   • If installing ProSeries Basic it will be BasicInstallerTY24.exe.
8. The install wizard will start.
9. Follow the on-screen instructions to walk you through the setup.

Follow these steps to add ProSeries Early Release to the Intuit Hosted environment:

1. Sign in to the Rightworks AppHub.
   • Users with the User (no catalog) role will need the Account Owner or someone with the Account Admin role to install apps for them.
2. Select My Apps.
3. Scroll down to the Available Applications section and locate 2024 Professional Tax.
4. Select Install.
   • The installation will begin, and when it's complete, you'll see 2024 Professional Tax join the Installed Applications section.
5. If you are the Account Owner, or an Account Admin, and also want to install the new year for your other users:
   1. Select the Admin Console.
   2. Go to the Users tab.
   3. Click on the name of the user to be taken to their Apps screen.
   4. Scroll down to the Available Applications section and locate 2024 Professional Tax.
   5. Choose Install.
      • The installation will begin, and when it's complete, you'll see 2024 Professional Tax in the Installed Applications section.
   6. Select All Users in the upper left to quickly get back to your list of users if you need to repeat to install for additional users.
