What exactly is the problem? That sounds like it did what it was supposed to do. What am I missing?

I think you're supposed to file a "Superseded" return instead of an amended return if you file it before the deadline.

Intuit told me to check some box that lets me e-file while still having errors. Haven't tried it yet though.
