What are some best practices for filing extensions for new clients?
Do you have them sign an engagement letter and just request their personal information?
Do you use intuit link to collect information?
Do you have them pay up front or add the cost of the extension to their bill when they file taxes later in the year?
I have a few new clients that need more time.......
No idea about "best" practices, but for last-minute people with whom I have no prior business relationship, I usually just send this link with some instructions:

Pay what you think you owe. If you don't think you owe, pay $10.
