Section 199A Rental Real Estate Safe Harbor Statement

Ahuja--CPA
Level 1

When we print Section 199A Rental Real Estate Safe Harbor Statement from ProSeries, it shows as "Section 1099A" instead of "Section 199A". Wondering if this is correct?

@Just Lisa Now! Sorry - do you mean a preparer who did not notice the printing and looks foolish to clients,  or the programmers who did not look at paper and rely on us to be their beta test?  Which is the "half-ass company"?
Just-Lisa-Now-
Level 15
Level 15
From a clients perspective,  it makes the preparer's office look half-ass, that this is the quality of what they're putting out. The client doesn't care about the software company.

I'm a small, casual, affordable tax preparation office, my clients barely open the folder I send them, let alone read the stuff inside, none of my clients would even notice a typo like that....but if you a big tax prep firm, with high priced billing, its hard to justify your fees when your product quality looks half-assed with a typo front and center on a document you provide them.

I totally agree with @Just Lisa Now! I deal with clients in the Silicon Valley, who are professionals working for companies like Google, Apple. If I provide them docs with mistakes like these, my office would close the next day. Intuit is also in the Valley, I believe they got my point.

Quality control ain't what it used to be.  I have a client, works for a publicly traded company, not only did they screw up his W-2 (failed to report HSA contributions which wouldn't be a huge deal except he's in CA and that's supposed to be added to CA wages), they also spelled their own company name wrong on the W-2s.

Typical PS Cust Service.
But it's the weekend - give the poor Intuit folks some downtime.
On the other hand, we're working weekends, and probably 12+ hour days.
