Why does the option for form 8948 not show up on a partnership return?

I can find that option under:

General -> e-file PDF/Miscellaneous(e-file Misc) -> Form 8948 Preparer explanation

on the individual tax returns, but on the Partnership return I can only find:

General -> Electronic Filing(e-file Misc)   and then there is not option for form 8948.

Why?  And how do I access 8948 instead?

8948 is only for individuals, estates or trusts per the form instructions. Look under Covered Returns in the instructions.

The preparer efile mandate only applies to 1040s and 1041s. Partnerships and corporations (either flavor) are potentially subject to their own efile mandate, but the penalty for a paper return falls on the entity, not the preparer.
