Elderly cpl moved to our area, and called me saying their paper filed return refund(mailed feb 2022) had not arrived. i did the 'Where's my refund?" and IRS doesn't even have in system yet. So, I said I would e-file the return for them(because I am such a nice guy), and he brings all his data in. I'm going thru his papers, entering info, and get to the RRC question. Well, they didn't get it, or the 6475 letters. (and the paper 2021 return did not request the RRC of $2800) But they had gotten paper checks for EIP1 & EIP2. I learn that the moved in March 2021, about a week after their CPA filed the 2020 return. I know some post offices won't forward IRS payments, so it's maybe logical they didn't get the check, but looks like the P.O. would have forwarded the 6475 letters. No way they peeps can do the verify.me ID thingy. Suggestions?

They can still use Form 4506-T to get their Account Transcript of Record of Account to see any transactions, including if the IRS thinks they sent the payment.

And if the IRS does think they sent the payment, then do the EIP version of 3911.

I see you are running with scissors again ------------- filing a return that has been already filed. Hopefully the two returns agree with each other once the IRS processes the paper return in the year 2525 😁
Lost in the mail, youve got no clue what the date would be.
You do want to put EIP3 at the very top of the form. Ive sent in dozens of them the past 2 years trying to track down the EIP money.
@Just-Lisa-Now- So what is the processing time line for the 3911s you've sent in? I have a client that needs to submit a 3911, wondered what I should tell him to expect.
Thanks for your response. So, lead time for response to 3911 is about the same as ordering new furniture.
I didn't have any clients that received debit cards. Must be northern Indiana wasn't selected for that option. I did check for one client just in case they were an oddity.
Do they get direct deposit of their social security checks? They could have received it and not checked their bank balances ( I learned how many of my clients do not do a bank rec ) It might have followed them that way.
