Is there a way to add a second phone number to two-step verification so that I can choose which number to use?

I spent a frustrating half hour with Intuit trying to accomplish that, and I gave up in disgust. Amazingly, I was not asked to evaluate this call.

we only have option to enter one phone number for 2FA. Please check https://accountants.intuit.com/support/en-us/help-article/account-management/safeguarding-online-acc... article and update your number. And you can go back to your intuit account and update 2FA number any time.

The problem with this is that I need the phone number, that might not be available, in order to login and update to a different number that is available.  Because I cannot work without login, if my phone becomes disabled for any reason, I will not be able to login.  It would be nice to have the ability to choose between two numbers that could receive the 6 digit code.

    Thank you for your reply.

You can always choose to work off-line if your phone is unavailable for 2 phase confirmation.  Now then you will not receive updates or be able to e-file at this point.  And you won't get any of those helpful notifications, alerts or popups.  You do not need to login to work off-line I don't think.

I might think about turning it on someday, if during the login they give me the option of a text, phone call or EMAIL. Lot's of other agencies and governments (Including Social Security Admin) add the email as an option. Until then I can't take the chance of being totally locked out if something happens to my phone.

    Well, hold my beer......

I inadvertently blocked the incoming phone number which Intuit had sent me the code. Now, I can't receive any codes!!!

Hi @Nhop The next best step would be to contact ProSeries Support. They can best assist you and help make sure you are receiving the two-step verification messages.
