What to do if an efiled tax return is rejected because IRS created a tax return when taxpayer entered bank information in "Non-Filer" tool to expedite Economic Payment.

IRS didn't create that return. Your client did, despite the language on the website.

Now a paper filed amended return is needed.

The more I know, the more I don't know.

You up your fee because now, since they didnt read the screen before using the Non Filer Site,  its a paper return that needs to be filed and they'll be lucky to see their 2019 refund before Halloween.

Entering bank info shoudnt have been done on the Non-Filer site....it would have been done on the Get My Payment site and would not have caused a rejection of the 2019 Efiled return.

I totally agree with you.  I wish the client would have contacted me before they used the Non-Filer tool.

Technically not an amended return -- it would be a superseding return, and I would use the 1040 with that written across the top margin.
