    Std Deduction vs sch a

    Rainman1966
    Level 3

MFJ client has Sch A deductions totaling 25100 but on form 1040 it is only showing the standard deduction of 24800.  Error message on the 1040/1040SE worksheet wants me to enter cash contributions of 300 when it shows 700 in total cash contributions on Sch A.  I cannot seem to find out why the Sch A deduction is not used.  On the information worksheet, Part X I do not have any check marks in the Standard Deduction/Itemized Deduction section.

So Line 17 of the Sch A shows $25100?
But Line 12 of the 1040 shows $24800?
With the $300 charitable contributions that can be taken off the top this year, it should work out the same either way.
