server busy error

i am using pro series basic.  getting server busy error when filing returns.  State return goes through but federal does not.  spoke to intuit they tried to fix but unsuccessful. they said it was a problem with webroot.  call webroot who uninstalled the webroot program but the federal return still did not do through and got the same message, server busy.

I don't know what to do since intuit is not taking responsibility and don't have a fix.

Server busy tends to be your own computer issue.  When that start happening I find a shut down of the computer (not just a restart) is required.  Additionally, empty your web cache and temporary files.  If still not working, unplug, wait and replug in your modem and/or router.  Typically it's your end with the computer getting tired.......

your suggestion did not work.  problem not my end.  pro series acknowledged it is a problem.  proseries tried to fix but was not able to.  proseries said the problem is with anti virus (webroot) end.  Contacted webroot who said they received numerous calls about this problem but its not their problem.

"spoke to intuit they tried to fix but unsuccessful"

What, if anything, do you suppose Intuit did to try and fix this? My guess = nada.

In the battle between 2 software companies, neither of whom accepts blame, the customer always loses.

Usually when antivirus software causes problems, it doesn't let something in. Here you're trying to send something out.

Can you turn off webroot, temporarily, and transmit? Then turn it back on?

The more I know, the more I don't know.

Sounds like a beautiful case of pass the buck.

I've heard it a lot between Intuit and Microsoft.
