proseries 2016 not auto filling the 1040x - what do i need to do to get the 1040x to auto filling

Go to the 1040X and check the box for the year you are amending. Once you start entering your changes it will auto fill then.

You need to activate (type the year in) the 1040X BEFORE you make any changes.  If a state is involved, be sure to activate the state amended for as well, once both are active, start making your changes, then the original column will auto fill.

In the event that you've already made the changes and its too much work to undo everything, you can type the original figures into that first column manually.
