Ohio RITA

I see zero reason for Rita 37 to be held up every year like it is.  C'mon Intuit !!  Release it to print !!!  No form changes !!!  Gets old manually filing these out for a week or two.

We have been asking for years. Intuit does not care!

Not the optimal solution while we wait until February 6 but I do hundreds of RITA returns a year and for these early ones I have the 2023 software open and I prepare the 2024 in both years programs. For federal for 2024 I print out the fed and state only since the RITA will not print yet and in the 2023 program I print out the RITA only and white out the years and dates and use 2024 on top and make sure I change the next year's esimate to show 2025 on page 2 of RITA.

I find this easier then preparing the 2024 on the RITA website.  And on the 2023 program I do not save that return as I am only using the 2023 RITA return to allow me to print it, white out, and chage dates.  I know not the optimal but I do all tax prep with my clients at my office and I do not have time to see a client two different times in tax season.  Not the optimal solution while we wait until February 6 but I do hundreds of RITA returns a year and for these early ones I have the 2023 software open and I prepare the 2024 in both years programs.

I use the RITA 37 pdf and copy and paste the info from the 2024 Proseries to the RITA pdf then print.  Just a pain to do.  Sometimes I like to vent out loud.  🤣   In hopes they will get it together.  Be nice if they would add efile capability for RITA also !!!

For those with Rita forms.  There is another work around.  You can "print preview" the forms.  Use the Windows snippet tool to print each form.  I contacted Rita and they said they would accept forms with the "Do not file" "Form not ready" watermarks.  The Windows Snippet tool is usually linked to the "print screen" button on your keyboard.  If not type snippet in the windows search bar (toolbar).  I imagine Rita will be like last year and Proseries will keep pushing the release date out.

@taxman1 hey taxman1.. thanks. I never used a snippet before.. took a little playing around with it to work but I think I figured it out.. p.s.. RITA now pushed out to 02.12.26 🙂

Another year, 2026.  It's delayed again. Why?

easy workaround

1. print preview

2. do a snippet

3. copy and paste to a word document

4. print out

5. give to client

6. wish client a nice day

(yes, RITA accepts these with the watermark)
