Michigan Property Tax C
I have a question regarding form 5049 for Michigan. I have a situation where a couple married in October of 2020 but they lived together the whole year. The husband owned the house and the wife had no legal claim to it. When I enter the wife's income the fact that they lived together before marriage do I have to include all of her income on column B of form 5049 or do I only enter the prorated amount from October since she was not married before to husband and had no legal right to the house.

MI Property Tax Credit uses all household income. It does not matter if taxable, non taxable or who it belongs to. You would include spouses income for the whole year.
It does not seem right that you would include spouses income before marriage if she did not contribute to funds to household expenses.
If you look at the instructions, it states "household" income. If the future wife was living with him, her income must be included.
