Hi
I have had 6 clients (so far) call me to say they haven't received their federal refunds. These returns were filed between March 17th and April 9th.....When I go on IRS website, it is saying that returns are still being processed....BUT, when client calls the IRS and gets the automated system, they are being told that return has not been filed. I have confirmation from software that return was filed and ALL 6 have received their state refunds. So my thinking is if they have received their state refund and I have confirmation that returns were filed and accepted then the IRS did receive the returns.
Any advice or anyone else having this problem?
Thanks.

Call PPS. You can ask about 5 clients in one phone call. You'll probably get the same answer I got.....the returns are requiring a manual review and that department is approximately 10 weeks behind - which is quite the understatement.
Do these clients have any additional RRC on the return, EIC based on 2019 return, unemployment income exclusion ? Based on my experience, these returns are "still in process".
I have one client who just received his 2019 refund and another still waiting for 2019. I have zillions of clients who have not received their Federal refund. IRS is operating at the speed of mail delivery - which means maybe by 2025.
I did call PPS but due to high volume wouldn't take my call.
I guess each client had some kind of special situation......child tax credit, farm schedules, or didn't receive their stimulus payments.
But I have others that were filed with similar circumstances (after the above mentioned) and they received their refunds within a couple weeks.
Just doesn't make sense because some returns that were filed after these have received their refunds.
There is a mention in this post Refund delays on returns requesting additional sti... - Intuit Accountants Community about returns in a specific time period seem to be "stuck"
