should a form 56 be filed for decedent as well as decedent's trust

I file 3115s when needed.
I agree professional fiduciaries should file the 56.
I haven't bothered with Form 56 for years. Seems to be another piece of paper to mail and have it go into oblivion/trailers.
Others may disagree.
Much like a Form 3115. But professional fiduciaries (or tax professionals occasionally serving as fiduciaries) should probably do it, because they should be held to a higher standard.

So I shouldn't get an error message if a form 56 is not included with 1041??
There's probably a Diagnostic, which can be ignored.
