I am trying to efile a business return that has entries on Form 3800. New this year, Proseries is requiring a pdf attachment if entries on Line VI. If we attach a pdf than we receive an error that the return cannot be efiled because it contains a schedule or form which MeF is not accepting as a binary attachment.
Does anyone know what this means?
I am getting the same error. Mine is on a partnership return. I am not filing form 3800 but I do have several attachments. Not more than I have had in previous years. My error is showing up on the information worksheet and it does not say what form is causing the error. Btw, the review process gets hung up in the middle of the diagnostics. Not sure if that is happening for the same reason or not. Going to remove my attachments and see if that clears it up.
Ok, I took all of my attachments off and the error went away. Added one back and it was back. My attachments are mostly for form 8949. But I also have some K-1 attachments. In the efile attachment area I list them all as Other, with the form and schedule number in the description area. This is the first return I have tried to file this year with attachments so it seems like there is a problem with any attachment.
Started another thread since it seems to be a general attachment problem. Here is the new thread I started.
Hello, thank you for the new thread @nancy2
Regarding TY24 Corp 3800 produces error for PDF attachment to Part VI- This unexpected behavior you have experienced regarding Form 3800 has been reported. We will update your new thread above as we learn more information.
@IntuitGabi Just to be clear, the issue I am having is not associated with form 3800. I am not even using that form on the entity I have the same problem with. Mine is on a partnership return. I do have a fair number of pdf attachments. As a test I removed all of them and the error went away. Then I added one back and the error came back. So I don't think it is any one particular attachment. Although I did not attach each of them individually to test it.
Also, I have prepared a trust return today with one attachment and it is not giving me the error.
Thank you for your help.
