I have a 990 due today (8-31 year end)
Sent to Proseries on the 9th - Supposedly Business Efile reopened at 9am eastern today,
Modernized eFile (MeF) Operational Status - EITC Central - IRS
but Proseries has not yet sent my file to the IRS.
I have a paper extension sitting on my desk, which I will run to the PO later today if necessary.

It sounds like Intuit will not be open for filing until tomorrow (which is pretty ridiculous). Much easier to snail mail that today than to have to fight late filing penalties later.
I don't do any 990s, is there any way to do the extension online directly with the IRS? I know they are working hard on the business portal stuff and adding new features every few months. Even so, often the account creation/ID.me process is more painful than dealing with the post office.

Hi folks. While e-file servers have been offline, prior year business returns have been stock piled and are postmarked at the time of transmission to Intuit. Starting today (1/15/25) these returns will begin to be submitted and are considered timely filed based on the postmark. See more here at E-file start and stop dates for federal returns

I waited until about noon and transmitted 19 business returns, one at a time. went smooth except on a 1065 for cash contribution which goes on page 5 of the 1065 the program keeps wanting me to fill out an 8283, but that is for non-cash contributions

How did some preparers get returns to stockpile at Intuit prior to the 15th? I tried to send a 1065 on the 14th, and got all kinds of error messages. I was able to file on the 15th with no issues.
